Two Minute Biography…

Originally hailing from Virginia Beach, I am a true water enthusiast with an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for soulful living. My fascination with history, art, and design began at a young age, and by the time I was eight, I had already set my sights on becoming an archaeologist. Throughout my upbringing, I insisted that my family halt at every historical marker, ancient ruin, or museum we encountered on our travels. Following my passion, I pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Since then, I have actively contributed to various archaeology and preservation initiatives spanning from Vermont to California and numerous places in between.

After enjoying several years living and working in Colorado, I knew without a doubt that my heart would always lead me back to Virginia, close to my beloved family and the picturesque Chesapeake Bay. After retiring, my parents made their dream a reality by establishing a flourishing vineyard on the Eastern Shore. Fast forward to 2012, I found myself in Charlottesville, becoming an integral part of both its rich history and vibrant viticulture scene. It was there that I crossed paths with my husband, Paul. Eager to put an end to the nomadic lifestyle, I took the proactive step of acquiring a teaching license to fully channel my expertise into the realm of public education.

Today, I proudly serve as a high school teacher, committed to empowering students to pursue their own unique interests. Apart from teaching, I cherish valuable moments with my husband Paul, our son Bjorn, and our diverse group of friends. We eagerly embark on outdoor escapades, whether it’s immersing ourselves in the serenity of the forest trail or exploring the coastlines for our next camp spot, all while fearlessly innovating new projects we can conquer together.
